Carpe Noctem vs. 1. RFC Stuttgart 0:1

Our last match was (imho) really nice with quite a few scoring chances. Unfortunately … hmm, well, it’s always the same against CoPS/1.RFC: many chances but no goal :) But hey, they definitively deserved scoring this one, even though we would have deserved one as well :D

Maybe some team member agrees to provide a more comprehensive post the next days. Just take this one as a starter for now :)

I know that for quite a few team members this was the last RoboCup as active participants in the (great) Carpe Noctem team. Even though we (again) only won the fourth place, I’d like to thank all of you for the great work you did, your never-ending motivation and ambition, the invaluable ideas, and the even more for helping making Kassel University’s Carpe Noctem team a highly respected team!

Carpe Noctem vs. Tech United 0:8

Due to a small nasty bug, our robots didn’t perform that well. For the next game we (hopefully) fixed it, so let’s hope for a more interesting and better-looking match against the 1. RFC Stuttgart.

Carpe Noctem vs. MostlyHarmless 9:0

Well, what to say about this game…..it was quite solid and normal.
Robots on the side of the opponent did not work very well so it was not a big challenge to win this game.

Hopefully there is something more to tell at the half finals.

So stay tuned for the matches to come.

Carpe Noctem vs. Tech United 0:5

Again this was quite an exciting match.
In the first half of the game we tried an experimental tactic with three robots attacking the opponent and one defender. It did not work that well against TU because they have an excellent ball control and kicker.

So after the first half it was 0:4.
Int the second half we changed the tactic to our normal one and were able to see the result after only a few minutes.
Our robots now played a very solid and nice to watch game and we only caught one goal in the second half. Sadly we were not able to shoot one ourselves but hopefully we can enhance that.

After a long night of cutting, editing, and postprocessing, the footage of our first four games is finally online. Enjoy!

Carpe Noctem vs. RFC Stuttgart 1:3

The most exciting game of the tournament……so far.
It was a nice competition between both teams with its ups and downs.
First half was quite normal, Stuttgart scored two goals in the middle of the half.
But our robots did not give up so easily. We made the 1:2 shortly after the 0:2.

At the beginning of the second half, both teams had major problems with the hardware.
As both visions were calibrated for a very high light intensity, it was hard for the robots to see the ball because the sun was fading.

To summarize things up:
It was a very close match and definitely exciting for the audience.
Next game is Cambada against Tech United.

Carpe Noctem vs. Paderkicker 8:0

After yesterdays defeat, our team put a lot of work in the software and hardware to reach a better result at the match against the Paderkickers.
A new Pathplanner and an experimental tactic were tested to see how big the capabilities are.
In a whole the robots were very stable again and the result was not bad as well.

The next match is against RFC Stuttgart (scheduled at 15:45, probably 15 minutes later) and everyone gives his best to reach the best possible result.
(Winning of course, there is no alternative ;))

Carpe Noctem vs. Cambada 0:4

The sad info first. We lost our first game.
But some good news too. It was not as clear as one might think.
Nearly all of the opponents goals were made in standard situations, but two times our robots blasted Cambadas corner kicks. Hopefully you can see some of theses actions on the best of video at the end of the tournament.

The robots were near to a stable behavior and now we have to tune and fix what is left.

Carpe Noctem vs. Aachen 9:0

After a nice start (Aachen did not really move) our team realized that there are still major problems in team play and hardware. Some shots did not work very well and the goalie nearly commited suicide in the goal net.

We hope to fix these problems for the next match.
