Carpe Noctem Robotic Soccer

Our last match against FU-Fighters ended 0:4 for Berlin. It was real fun, even for the referee. Our robots did very well, the goalie defeated many potential goals for our opponents.

The last two hours we had two games in a row again. The first against Attempto Tübingen, the second one against CoPS Stuttgart. Both games were vivid and nice to watch. We’ve lost our last game against CoPS Stuttgart with 2:5. It was a great game, six CoPS against four Carpe Noctem Robots and one Ulm Sparrow. We’ve improved a lot in the last hours. After annoying ourselves with stupid networking problems, fighting against lightning and calibration issues, this game showed what we can do.

We won the game against TKU-ITRI. This time the network was ok and mops (our keeper) intercepted every ball. For him it actually was a very boring game, not so for us. The ball hit the opponent’s goal many times (at least eight times) but unfortunately only four of them were scored. This is [...]

This game ended in a tie–again: 0:0. It was a great game without any severe network problems. To avoid further communication breakdown, we will not reboot our laptops today (because of the wireless lan problem we experienced yesterday). Let’s hope that our performance gets even better during the next two games.

The morning we’ve had our first game against FU-Fighters. Ok, we must admit that we had serious problems, ranging from failing refereebox connections (that’s due to this stupid me) to miscalibration. We just passed the technical challenge and got 10 out of 10 points with the first try. Even though, we had some nasty vision problems–the calibration was not that good. Nevertheless it’s great, simple great! :)
